Monmouth University is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor of Nursing in the Marjorie K. Unterberg School of Nursing and Health Studies for AY2026-2027 with anticipated start date of Fall 2026. Applications received by April 15, 2026 will receive full consideration. This position remains open until filled.
The Marjorie K. Unterberg School of Nursing and Health Studies has 38 full-time faculty, 14 staff, and close to 1,000 students. The School offers undergraduate nursing, health studies, health promotion, health, and physical education, master's physician assistant, doctoral occupational therapy, master's, doctoral, and post-master's nursing programs and continuing education programs.
The Baccalaureate degree program in nursing, Master's degree program in nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice program, and post-graduate APRN certificate program at Monmouth University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in Nursing. ABD candidates will be considered; degree completion is required by the date of hire.
- New Jersey professional registered nurse and/or nurse practitioner licensure or eligibility with a license required at time of employment.
- Minimum three (3) years of current direct care experience as a registered nurse or a minimum of one (1) year of current practice as a certified/licensed advanced practice nurse.
- Minimum three (3) years of undergraduate teaching experience in the classroom in nursing at a college or university.
- Demonstrated ongoing disciplinary currency and scholarly achievement.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the undergraduate level.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the graduate level.
- Experience with online teaching in an asynchronous format.
- Experience with Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Expected to teach 9 credits per semester (12 credits with a 3-credit course reduction for scholarship)
- Maintain currency in practice through current direct care experience as a registered nurse or as a certified/licensed advanced practice nurse.
- Maintain disciplinary currency commensurate with assigned teaching responsibilities as defined in the Department, School, and University scholarship statements; contribute to the Department's scholarship agenda.
- Contribute to on-going accreditation efforts at the Department and School levels.
- Advise and mentor students.
- Provide service to the Department, School, and University committees.
