Job Title: Assistant Professor

Job Summary:

We are delighted to be recruiting for a hybrid research (60%) and

clinical (40%) pediatric neuropsychologist position, with a focus

on neuropsychological outcomes for children with neurogenetic

conditions within a precision-medicine team. This position will also

have the opportunity to see children with a wide range of medical

conditions impacting central nervous system functioning through

our Pediatric Neuropsychology clinic in the Section of Neurology

at Children's Hospital Colorado and its network of care sites.

Responsibilities include conducting primarily outpatient

evaluations-both research and clinical-and occasional inpatient

consultations. The role also includes teaching, supervising

trainees, and participating in educational activities such as case

conferences and lectures.

The position contributes to clinical program development and

scholarly activity within Neurology and related interdisciplinary

initiatives, including collaborative projects that support

neurogenetics related research and emerging precision medicine

approaches. Board certification through the American Board of

Professional Psychology (ABPP) in Clinical Neuropsychology is

expected within five years of employment.

Additionally, this role involves specialized expertise in assessing

cognitive and behavioral functioning in children with epileptic encephalopathies

and

intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) with significant

support needs, as well as integrating these assessments into

broader longitudinal, clinical, and research activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support neurogenetics and precision medicine research,

including participation in longitudinal studies and integration of

cognitive, behavioral, and adaptive data into evolving research

frameworks.

  • Provide outpatient neuropsychological evaluations for children

and young adults with diverse neurological, medical, and

neurodevelopmental conditions.

  • Conduct screening and targeted assessments within

multidisciplinary clinics, in addition to traditional comprehensive

evaluations.

  • Apply specialized expertise in epileptic encephalopathies

and IDD, including

interpretation of complex neurodevelopmental profiles and

support needs.

  • Contribute to training and supervision of neuropsychology

externs, interns, and post doctoral fellows, and participate in

educational activities.

  • Collaborate across clinical and research teams to promote

consistency in assessment practices, data processes, and quality

assurance activities that enhance overall program development.

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Assistant Professor:

  • Applicants must have completed an APPCN-member fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology

  • Applicants must be eligible for or have completed Board Certification (ABPP)

Condition of Employment:

  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado

  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in pediatric neuropsychology teaching, program development, and research

  • Interest or experience with clinical research, especially in neurology/precision medicine, is strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills; both written and orally

  • Broad knowledge and clinical skills in Pediatric Neuropsychology

  • Commitment to Patient Safety, Quality Care, Communication, and Customer Service

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Assistant Professor: $104,000-$120,000
