The LeBron James Family Foundation School of Education at the University of Akron (https://www.uakron.edu/education) invites applications for a (non-tenure-track) Assistant Professor of Practice position starting in August 2026.
Required Qualifications:
Earned doctorate in Literacy Education or related field by the time of employment.
Evidence of minimum 3 years classroom teaching experience in PK-12 setting
Applicants must hold a structured literacy certificate and have completed a supervised practicum through an accredited program.
Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of successful teaching at the post secondary level
Experience with curriculum development
Experience teaching literacy methods courses
Experience literacy coaching in PreK-12 grades
Experience with integration of emerging technology in teaching and learning

The compensation for this position is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
