Job Description

Pfeiffer University, a small private liberal arts institution committed to purpose-driven education and career

readiness, invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor of Nursing. This position is

ideal for a dynamic educator who is passionate about mentoring students, integrating liberal arts values into

professional preparation, and contributing to a transformative undergraduate experience.

The faculty member will work a total of 9 months: January -May for the Spring 2026

semester. August-May for subsequent contract years.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach undergraduate nursing courses based on expertise. (12-13 semester hours)
  • Mentor nursing majors, supporting academic progress, career readiness, and graduate school preparation.
  • Supervise clinical experiences in local healthcare settings
  • Participate actively in departmental and university-wide faculty committees.
  • Engage in scholarly activity and professional development.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and assessment efforts.
  • Comply with all policies in the Employee Handbook and the Faculty Handbook.

Faculty will teach at the Misenheimer campus and work directly with the faculty of the Nursing Department.
