QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Political Science by September 1, 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The person hired will become part of a vibrant interdisciplinary academic unit with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. A successful candidate will have teaching and research interests within the subfields of American or Comparative Politics, with a strong preference for a candidate who can contribute to building a new interdisciplinary MA program in Media Studies. The normal teaching load is three courses per quarter. Responsibilities also include advising undergraduate political science majors. A strong commitment to exemplary teaching at the undergraduate level, scholarship/research activity, and good interpersonal and collegial skills are expected.

THE UNIVERSITY: Louisiana Tech is a selective admissions university and offers a broad range of fully accredited undergraduate degrees in a variety of majors and doctoral programs in areas of specified expertise. The School of Human Inquiry offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science, History, Communication Studies, and Sociology, as well as minors in Geography and Philosophy. The campus is located in Ruston, Louisiana, 70 miles east of Shreveport and 30 miles west of Monroe on Interstate 20.
