Job Description
Assistant Project ManagerOur client is a full-service General Contractor/Construction Manager that has been serving the North Jersey market for decades. Known for their collaborative culture, quality projects, and commitment to employee development, they have built a reputation as one of the area's most respected builders. With continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, the company is seeking an ambitious Assistant Project Manager who is eager to learn, contribute, and advance within the organization.The Assistant Project Manager will:Support Project Managers with the day-to-day management of commercial and multifamily construction projects
Assist with project software management and document control
Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project correspondence
Assist with subcontractor bid solicitations, bid leveling, and buyout activities
Help manage permitting and inspection processes
Support client onboarding and project startup procedures
Build and maintain relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and vendors
Assist with project schedules and milestone tracking
Help monitor project budgets, commitments, and cost reporting
Coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules
Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and action items
Assist with project closeout documentation and warranty administration

Experience with a General Contractor, Construction Manager, or specialty subcontractor preferred
Commercial, multifamily, residential, or related construction experience considered
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred but not required
Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, project documentation, and construction processes
Experience with project management software preferred
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Desire to grow into a Project Manager position
