Civil Associate Engineering Technician

Underground TransmissionOnsite 5 days/week
Overland Park, KS - local candidates onlyTemp to permVirtual Design & Data SolutionsAssociate Engineering TechnicianThis role will be responsible for the development of plan & profile deliverables using Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation.This role will be within the * solution, supporting client needs related to underground transmission line projects. Basic Civil 3D experience is required with knowledge ofalignments, plan/profile, and sections.

Job SummarySupports engineering teams under general supervisionPerforms technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practicesUses digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling)Creates, updates, and maintains technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverablesBegins providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians

Key ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate strong attention to detail while supporting continuous improvement and change management initiativesUse and expand applications and tools to evaluate and improve methods, processes, and proceduresCreate and develop project deliverables based on a variety of design inputsPerform basic computations, including material quantity estimates and dimensional checksCoordinate deliverables with other project groups to minimize errors and interferencesSupport internal client needs while developing an understanding of external client priorities and driversProactively seek out, share, and apply knowledge of new technologies and evolving processe

Required:Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStationDevelopment of plan and profile deliverables using Autodesk Civil 3DBasic Civil 3D experience with knowledge of alignments, plan/profile, and sections.Demonstrates personal accuracy and supports continuous improvement and change management efforts. Broadening the use of applications to learn to continuously evaluate and improve methods, processes and procedures used to accomplish deliverables. Create and develop deliverables based on a variety of design inputs. May perform basic computations such as material quantity estimates and dimensional checks. Assist in coordinating deliverables with other groups involved on the same project to minimize interference or errors. Focuses on the needs of internal clients while gaining basic understanding of external client's main interests and drivers. Proactively seeks and shares knowledge of latest technologies and processes
