POSITION SUMMARY:Responsible for designing and creating packaging and product artwork in support of the manufacturing requirements for all products produced by theGeneral Surgery Group. Must incorporate customer requirements and ensure standardization of artwork development in compliance withdesign standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

" Responsible for the graphic design requirements for packaging and product artwork, including the production of labels, lidstock, and display box artwork; support for formal artwork approvals; and maintenance of packaging labeling development procedures.Verifies vendor proofs, makes corrections or communicates changes to ensure all printed components match approved artwork files.Effectively manages multiple projects, changes in project scope, and shifting priorities in order to maintain project requirements and ensure deadlines are met.

" Collaborates with department and cross-functional peers to ensure proper resolution to questions and issues that arise during the artwork development processWrite and Execute software validation protocolsWrite test reports documenting validationJOB QUALIFICATIONS:

" Excellent communication and organizational skills.

" Ability to multi-task and strong attention to detail.

" Proficient with design software, including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Microsoft Office. " Proficient in using both MAC and PC Operating Systems

" Ability to work with department peers and middle-management within the marketing, engineering, and manufacturing functional groups.

EDUCATION:

" Four-year college degree preferred or related experience.

EXPERIENCE:

" Significant previous experience in graphic design production.

" Experience in the development of labeling for the medical device industry preferred.Experience working in labeling systems (Priysm, Loftware/Spectrum)

What does the team make-up look like how many members and what is the break-down of the team s skill sets (ex: 1 PM, 4 Developers, etc.)?

My team is comprised of the following:North Haven CT site Myself (labeling manager), 3 full time labeling designers (1 principal designer, 1 senior designer, 1 designer) and one full time contract designerLafayette CO site - two full time labeling designers(1 principal designer, 1 designer), 2 full-time contract designersRemote one Senior labeling designerAll labeling designers work alongside the Labeling Project coordinators at the Lafayette and North Haven sites

What are the work hours? (ex. 9am-5pm, day/night shifts, rotating shifts, etc)Lafayette work between the hours of 7:30-4:00 (it s flexible)What does the interview process look like?How many rounds? 2 rounds, maybe 3Video vs. phone? First interview phone, 2nd interview video and onsiteHow technical will the interviews be? Not very technical, we would like to understand how their experience relates to the position and inform them of the role and expectations we have. We like to begin the interview by explaining the role and gauging their interest once they understand more about the position. This is more of a labeling production role than a creative one.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Conceives, designs, lays out, and coordinates editorial illustrations and creative artwork. Develops interpretive themes that convey ideas and information. Creates graphic presentations that communicate mood, emphasis, insight, viewpoint, and similar visual impressions. Provides guidance on graphic technology. Works closely with internal company contacts to understand requirements and create cost efficient graphic designs through available mediums. May provide computer graphic services for web artwork. May also have responsibility or input on reproduction and printing processes through in-house resources or outside vendors. SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM: Typically an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering and overseeing the projects from design to implementation - while and adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education. DIFFERENTIATING FACTORS Autonomy: Entry-level individual contributor on a project or work team. Works with close supervision. Organizational Impact: Delivers work of limited scope, typically smaller, less complex projects or related activities. Innovation and Complexity: Identifies, defines and addresses problems that are not immediately evident but typically not difficult or complex. Makes minor changes in systems and processes to solve problems. Communication and Influence: Communicates primarily with internal contacts within immediate group. Contacts others to gather, confirm and convey information. Leadership and Talent Management: N / A job at this level is focused on self-development. Required Knowledge and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant experience in graphic design or equivalent experience (OR Associate's Degree with 2+ years experience OR Baccalaureate Degree). For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).
