Job Description

TheFinance and Accountingteam is seekinganAssociatetoparticipatein astrategic initiativetofurtherdevelop,implement, andmanagean operatingplan for the AresEmployeeCo-InvestmentProgram (the “EmployeeCo-InvestmentProgram”).The EmployeeCo-Investment Programfacilitatesthe investment byAres employees inAres managed funds.  Theindividual will have day-to-dayoperationalownershipfornumerousfunds including, but not limited to, investoronboardingand relationship management,operations, reportingandservicing andlimitedfund accounting responsibilities.

The role requires an individual who is astrategic thinkerand able tocollaboratewith various cross-functional teamsto understand the challenges and needs of stakeholders. This rolewill alsoparticipateinthemanagingand continuously improving the data, reporting/insights, technology, and processes needed to delivera seamless investor experience to our internal investors.Ideally, the candidate will have experience with investment accounting and/or investor portal implementations.

Primary functions and essential responsibilities

  • Assistin thecoordination ofnew co invest fund launches, including understanding fund structure andjurisdictions, coordination with various internal/external parties, review of draft legal documentation for reporting requirements,negotiating lines of credit,and resourcingplanning

  • Must be a player-coachandeffectivelymanagerelationships with internal resources (both US and Mumbai based)andexternalproviders i.e.:fund administrator(s),andlenders

  • Assistinthe system identification, assessment, and implementationprocessesfor LPportalsolutions i.e.:eFront,Investran, andthe such

  • Assistinthe system identification, assessment, and implementationprocessesforAI solutionsi.e.:ProSights,Pryon

  • Contribute effectivelytothe innovation efforts for the structuring and implementation of a streamlined and centralized Investor Operations 360 platform 

  • In-charge ofInvestor Relations efforts,includingdirectliaison with Investors, Wealth Manager/Financial Advisors

  • Participate inproject plans, milestones, and updates to executive management

  • Coordinatewith third party banking/lenderrelationshipsandinternal andexternal auditors to meet all monthly, quarterly,and annual reporting deadlines 

  • Manage debt facilities and review compliance reporting,as applicable 

  • Assistin the preparation ofquarterly reporting deliverables and process in partnership with fund administrator(s)

  • Responsible for ad-hoc limited partner,analyst,andinvestment teamrequests 

Qualifications

Education:

  • BS/BAwith major inAccounting, EconomicsorFinance, with outstanding academic record 

  • CPAor CFA,a plus

Experience Required:

  • 3-5+ years of relevant work experience

  • Public accountingexperiencea plus(Big 4 preferred)

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high growth environment

  • Ability toassistin managing severalthird-partyrelationships

  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, a plus

  • Strong verbal and written skills; ability to analyze and summarize complex information both verbally and in writing

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to multi-task and manage various deadlines

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Salesforceor other CRM systemexpertise,a plus

  • SungardDx, Intralinks,eFront,or similar investor portal implementation experience,a plus

General Requirements:

  • Proven experience of collaborating with teams in remote locations 

  • StrongproficiencyinMicrosoftExcel,PowerPointand Word(e.g.:complex formulas, macros)

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau. Alteryxor other business intelligence tools

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to collaborate with others 

  • Superior communication skills and a demonstrated ability to create contentto a diverse audience

  • Strong client service orientation

  • Outstanding leadership and project management capabilities 

  • Outstanding organizational skills with attention to detail

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$100,000 - $120,000
