What you need to have:

  • 7+ years of experience in catastrophe risk modelling or related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software and analytical concepts.
  • Strong academic record and fluent English; Spanish language skills strongly preferred.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to lead internal initiatives and research projects to completion.
  • Robust data management skills with the ability to manipulate, interpret, and extrapolate complex data.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills to translate complex technical analysis into understandable terms for brokers and clients.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and financial aptitude.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain client and internal relationships.
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft SQL, Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and basic coding in any language.

What makes you stand out:

  • Previous experience in a technical role at a reinsurance broker, market, or catastrophe model software vendor.
  • Experience using Microsoft SQL, Python, Data Bricks, Alteryx, or Power BI.
  • Scientific background in applied mathematics, statistics, meteorology, and/or seismology.
  • Understanding of the insurance/reinsurance industry and product lines.
