JobDescription: The Data Operations Associate position offers an opportunity to serve as a key member of our centralized data operations team focused on ensuring clean, accurate, and timely data to enhance decision-making, mitigate risk, and drive operational efficiencies and excellence at scale across the organization. The Data Operations team leverages a combination of technology, technically skilled “humans-in-the-loop”, thoughtful solutioning and robust process development to achieve these goals. In this role, you will also support the following:
- Assist with data aggregation, governance, and validation, which includes working with data aggregation service providers and various data platforms.
- Manage and integrate data across internal business groups and operational processes (e.g. billing, compliance, client reporting, investment research data management, client onboarding, etc.).
- Enhance, automate, and streamline data operational processes through technology, process improvements, data enrichment and data analysis.
- Support data systems implementation and analytics work (e.g. Monte Carlo simulations, Power BI) in collaboration with other business groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work independently and prioritize tasks based on urgency and deadlines.
- Assist in the collection, validation, and maintenance of large amounts of financial data.
- Build and manage data validation processes, rules, and frameworks to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Collaborate closely with data aggregation service provider to ensure accurate client reporting across various asset classes.
- Collaborate on data- and database-related projects that serve to enhance data quality, efficiency, and scalability across the organization.
- Perform daily maintenance of data workflow processes, ranging from automated data capture, validation, and reconciliation.
- Leverage data extraction tools and technology to optimize and automate data aggregation processing.
- Troubleshoot data-related inquiries and provide administrative data support for various internal business units.
- Become a subject matter expert on data platforms (e.g. Addepar, Factset, Salesforce, etc.) and processes across the firm.
- Participate in data analytics work by using various tools and assisting in analyzing data trends, patterns, and insights in support of internal stakeholders and business groups.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Information Technology, or Data Science.
- Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge.
- Possess a basic knowledge of financial markets and reporting.
- Enjoy working with large amounts of data, complex problem-solving as it relates to data and operations, and working in a team-oriented culture built on collaboration.
- Possess a keen interest in data management, operations, and technology.
- Enjoy tackling complex, multi-dimensional problems and coming up with actionable solutions.
- Are adept at balancing a strong process orientation with a willingness to “think outside of the box” in identifying creative solutions as it pertains to data and operational efficiency.
- Demonstrate a strong ability to multi-task and balance time-sensitive priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred:
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of other programming languages (R, Python, VBA, etc.).
- 1 – 2 years of private fund administration, financial reporting, and/or data operations experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel skills.
- Experience using Power BI or similar data visualization applications.
- Experience using Salesforce.
Pay Transparency:
Pathstone’s expected starting base compensation range for the position as of the time of this posting is $75,000 - $90,000 per year. The actual base compensation selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including (but not limited to) experience, education, specialty and training. The successful candidate(s) may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus award.
