Associate / Analyst - Strategic Advisory (Structured Equity / Private Capital Markets)

Responsibilities

The Strategic Advisory group is one of the most experienced teams in the industry, and has been involved in some of the largest, most complex transactions in recent years. Our global team focuses on a diverse set of industries, including technology, media & telecommunications, consumer & retail, financials & insurance, GP advisory, energy, oil & gas, power, utilities & renewables, industrials, aerospace & defense, healthcare and real estate, gaming, lodging, and leisure.

Our Structured Equity and Private Capital Markets team is part of the Capital Markets Advisory team within the Strategic Advisory Group. Our Structured Equity and Private Capital Markets team originates, advises upon, structures, negotiates and executes private capital and public equity and equity-linked transactions across sectors globally. The team manages relationships with a broad range of investors and issuers.

Types of transactions include, but are not limited to:

• Convertible bonds, mandatory convertibles, equity derivatives

• Growth or developmental equity or equity-linked financings

• Pre-IPO or IPO-linked capital raises

• Acquisition related equity or debt financings

• Negotiated PIPE (Private Investment in Public Equity) offerings

• Minority / structured equity raises

• Joint ventures with third party capital / capital formation

• Equity recapitalizations / refinancings

• Other bespoke or creative private financing solutions

Analysts and Associates participate in the origination and execution of all deal activity. Work will include:

• Active involvement in client facing situations

• Assistance in the execution of transactions

• Assistance in deal structuring and term sheet negotiations

• Ongoing investor relationship development and management

• Constructing and managing internal deal and investor-related databases

• Drafting of client presentations

• Preparation of market updates

• Conducting financial and other business-related research

• Coordinating and helping manage complex and often time-sensitive processes

• Participation in talent development efforts, including recruiting

Qualifications

PJT Partners seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have excellent academic, leadership and extracurricular records. In addition, qualified candidates will possess the following:

• 1 - 5 years of investment banking experience as a member of a leading equity or equity-linked capital markets or private capital markets group with experience with structured equity and/or private capital transactions highly preferred

• Analytical and detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Self-motivated and proactive

• Aptitude to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Robust organizational and time management skills

• Strong work ethic and ability to work well under pressure

Expected annualized base salary of $120,000 to $250,000.

This range represents the low and high ends of the expected annualized base salary for this position. The specific base salary received by any employee will be informed by a number of factors, including but not limited to, role level and scope, location, candidate's relevant qualifications, skills and experience.

Base salary is one component of PJT Partners' compensation structure. In addition to base salary, PJT Partners' compensation structure may include additional rewards, incentives, and benefits, including but not limited to, a discretionary bonus component.
