Are you a seasoned attorney with a passion for public entity law? Do you have a deep understanding of municipal law and a desire to make a tangible impact on local government operations? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Attorney specializing in Public Entity law to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal services to a broad range of public entities, including cities, counties, and special districts. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to work on challenging legal issues that affect public entities and the communities they serve.
Responsibilities:
As an Associate Attorney, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Providing legal counsel to public entities on a wide range of issues, including land use, labor, and employment matters.
- Drafting and reviewing ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other legal documents.
- Representing public entities in litigation, administrative proceedings, and negotiations.
- Conducting legal research and preparing legal opinions on complex issues of municipal law.
- Advising public entities on compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Participating in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the legal compliance and efficiency of public entities.
- Collaborating with other attorneys, paralegals, and staff to provide high-quality legal services to our clients.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in public entity law, with a focus on municipal law, land use, labor, and employment matters.
- Demonstrated experience providing legal counsel to public entities, including cities, counties, and special districts.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, court personnel, and other attorneys.
- Ability to handle a high-volume workload and manage multiple cases with competing deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide practical legal advice.
