Job Description
- Department Lead for Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Participation as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team for the perinatal program.
- Collaboration with the assigned physician for supervision and consultation.
- Participation in peer review, quality improvement measures, and program improvement.
- Obtain health histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations, including psychosocial, functional, and developmental assessments.
- Order and interpret lab results and other diagnostic studies.
- Develop differential diagnoses.
- Develop/order therapeutic plan of care.
- Maintain patient records per organization policy.
- Evaluate the patient’s response to the plan of care and modify as needed.
- Provide patient/family counseling and education.
- Arrange for patient referrals/consultations.
- Care of the obstetrical patient, including high-risk OB patients.
- Contraceptive care.
- STD screening and follow-up.
- Pregnancy testing and care before, during, and after pregnancy.
- Evaluation and treatment of common infections.
- Care before and after menopause.
- Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice Degree with specialized training as a CNM (preferred) whose focus is in Obstetrics and Gynecology across the lifespan.
- Graduation from an accredited MSN or DNP program.
- Licensed and approved to practice in Maryland.
- Prescriptive authority.
- Five years of clinical experience preferred.
- Candidates with three to four years of experience will be considered based on the qualifications of the candidate and the strength of their references.
- Will take into consideration if the candidate has worked in private practice, hospital-based, ambulatory care, urgent care, or acute care settings as CNM.
