Job Description

Ready to turn creative ambition into business impact?

We're looking for an Associate Designer who sees a blank canvas and thinks "opportunity." Someone who creates work that doesn't just communicate. It converts. This isn't about making things look pretty (though the work will). It's about crafting visual stories that help ambitious companies choose us over everyone else.

You'll sit on Drake Cooper's Creative team, reporting to a Creative Director, and you'll be a resource across every client in our portfolio. You're not designing client campaigns, but everything you create will directly impact our ability to land the ambitious companies we're built to serve and to serve our current clients well.

Half your work will be internal and agency-facing: presentations, proposals, case studies, social content, and award submissions. The other half will be client-touching: comping assets, building decks, and making sure every piece that goes out the door looks like it came from the best agency in the room.

You'll collaborate with the Creative Directors, Art Directors, Director of Growth, Director of Marketing, and Senior Strategist to create visual experiences that support our expansion into food & beverage, retail, real estate, financial services, and employee-owned brand markets.

We're not expecting you to know everything on day one. We are looking for someone who sees a brief and thinks, "challenge accepted." Someone who pulls teams forward rather than waiting to be pulled.

This role is onsite at our Boise, Idaho office location.

What You'll Do

Presentation Design (Primary Focus)

  • Design pitch decks and agency presentations that make prospects say, "We need to work with these people"
  • Give every deck a proper design pass: no presentation goes out unpolished
  • Rapidly iterate on slides in real time, responding to feedback as strategy evolves
  • Build and maintain a library of branded slide templates so the next deck starts better than the last one
  • Transform RFP responses from text documents into compelling visual narratives

Agency & Client Asset Support

  • Comp assets across client projects, helping make ideas tangible for reviews and presentations
  • Build case studies that show our work in its best light
  • Design social content that positions Drake Cooper as the agency everyone's talking about
  • Craft design for award submissions that highlights the work
  • Ensure visual consistency and brand compliance across everything that goes out

Brand Stewardship

  • Maintain and apply our visual brand standards with confidence
  • Create industry-specific adaptations of our materials that speak to different verticals
  • Make sure every touchpoint (internal or external) that reinforces that we're a premium agency

What You Bring

Required

  • 0-5 years of design experience in an agency or client-facing environment
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Presentation software expertise: PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides
  • Strong typography, layout, and visual hierarchy skills
  • Understanding of brand guidelines and design systems
  • The organizational skills to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously
  • A portfolio demonstrating professional work with clear impact or intent

Preferred

  • Experience designing RFPs or proposals in an agency context
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, Canva, or similar marketing design tools
  • Comfort with Google Workspace and project management tools
  • Curiosity about AI-assisted design (we experiment with tools that make us better)
  • Print design and production experience a plus

Who Thrives Here

You'll love this job if you:

  • Have strong design instincts and the confidence to act on them
  • Can translate a business objective into a visual solution, and quickly
  • Stay cool when briefs shift, or deadlines compress (they will)
  • Care about craft, but know when perfect is the enemy of done
  • Get energized by variety: no two weeks look the same
  • Want your work to matter beyond the aesthetic: you want it to win business, build relationships, and represent an agency you're proud of

Benefits

  • 100% Employee Owned
  • Bonus payouts when agency financial goals are met
  • Paid Parking at our office locations
  • 401(k) plan with a match
  • Agency-paid medical, life, and short-term disability insurance, along with options for vision, dental, additional life, and long-term disability insurance
  • A generous time off program, including family leave and volunteer work
