Associate Director, Web & Digital Communications

Brandeis University - Office of Marketing & Communications

Location: Waltham, MA

Salary Range: $106,200 - $115,100

Brandeis University is seeking an experienced and strategic Associate Director, Web & Digital Communications to lead the operational engine behind our web and digital presence.

This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, execution, and continuous improvement-a leader who can bring clarity to complexity, ensure excellence in delivery, and elevate how digital supports institutional priorities.

What You Will Do

Drive Web & Digital Execution (70%)

  • Lead the intake, prioritization, and delivery of web projects of varying scale and complexity

  • Maintain visibility across projects-timelines, dependencies, and deliverables

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders - including Marketing, ITS, site owners, and external vendors - to drive project execution

  • Balance strategic oversight with hands-on digital work as needed

Ensure Quality, Accessibility & Performance (15%)

  • Oversee processes for monitoring and maintaining site health, including accessibility, SEO and technical quality

  • Lead remediation efforts and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Maintain governance standards and ensure compliance with accessibility and regulatory requirements

Strengthen Team Operations & Impact (15%)

  • Coordinate team workflows, support ticket management, and task assignment

  • Identify trends and improve processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness

  • Support training and adoption of web standards across campus partners

  • Represent the digital team in cross-functional initiatives and committees

What You Bring

  • 5-8+ years (8-10+ preferred) managing complex websites or digital operations

  • Strong project management expertise (PMP a plus)

  • Experience working with CMS platforms, web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

  • Deep understanding of accessibility, SEO, and digital best practices

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work on time

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders
