General Summary:

The Associate Director, Global Revenue Technical Accounting will lead and oversee the company’s revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP (ASC 606) and other relevant accounting standards. This role will involve managing complex revenue transactions, ownership of the accounting policies and training curriculum, and leading the collaboration with cross-functional teams to support revenue related financial reporting requirements. The Associate Director will also play a critical role in audits, SEC filings, and the development of training tools for the revenue accounting team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the process for evaluating and documenting the revenue recognition (ASC 606) for customer contracts and reimbursement agreements
  • Oversee the accounting review of new agreements and complex gross-to-net transactions, ensuring accurate and consistent application of technical accounting conclusions across products and regions
  • Own and maintain the revenue recognition policies and procedures, collaborating with international and North American revenue accounting teams
  • Prepare and present quarterly contract summaries and accounting conclusions, including ad-hoc complex gross to net transactions to Revenue and Accounting leadership teams
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Sales, and Operations, to support contract drafting and ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards
  • Partner with the SEC Reporting team to support preparation of revenue-related disclosures for SEC filings, responsible for overseeing the annual review of 10K revenue accounting policies for updates and review from revenue leadership team
  • Lead the review process of revenue recognition memos, audit schedules, and responses to auditor requests during quarterly and annual reviews
  • Support statutory audits in partnership with the International Accounting Team
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with global accounting, finance, and commercial teams to meet internal and external financial reporting requirements
  • Provide training and mentorship to the revenue accounting team on US GAAP accounting guidance and its application

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven ability to analyze and present complex accounting issues to senior management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including memo drafting and presentation capabilities
  • Strong organizational and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across various levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
  • Minimum of 9 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on pharmaceutical or life sciences revenue accounting or technical accounting roles
  • Public accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 firm
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, particularly ASC 606

Pay Range:

$144,000 - $216,000

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
