Associate Electrical EngineerLocation: Santa Clara, CA Pay Range: $110,000 $120,000 (commensurate with experience)Job Type: Full-timeAbout the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Associate Electrical Engineer to support the design, implementation, and commissioning of advanced Life Safety and chemical distribution systems for high-tech facilities in the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries. You'll play a key role in integrating sensors, control panels, and gas monitoring technologies into mission-critical environments.Key Responsibilities
- Interpret project documents, proposals, and technical specifications to design:
- Toxic & flammable gas monitoring systems
- Chemical distribution and waste collection systems
- Electrical power systems
- Create detailed AutoCAD drawings:
- Device layouts on architectural plans
- Block and wiring diagrams
- Perform engineering calculations and select equipment for PLC-based systems.
- Ensure designs comply with:
- CA Fire Code
- CA & National Electrical Code
- Toxic Gas Ordinance
- Cl.I, Div.2 area standards
- Oversee or assist in:
- Programming, startup, and commissioning of PLC systems
- On-site installation coordination and integration
- Final inspections and city approvals
- End-user training and post-installation support
- Support Project Managers in:
- Project planning and execution
- Proposal development
- Cross-discipline coordination
- Contractor and field team communication*
- Participate in City Inspections and assist with field activities as needed.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in facilities construction or industrial systems engineering
- Strong understanding of applicable building codes and safety standards
- Proficient with:
- AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- PLC programming and HMI development (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
