At CARFAX we believe in the power of teamwork and value in-person interactions so that we can collaborate and thrive together. The position will require 3 days per week in our Centreville, VA office subject to change with future business needs.

What you'll be doing:

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for data management and database structure, ensuring the integrity of CARFAX consumer data across all platforms.
  • Manage the integration of consumer data across marketing and CDP platforms, acting as the primary technical point of contact for data flow.
  • Focus on storytelling with data by working closely with Product and Marketing teams to translate complex reporting into actionable messaging optimizations.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive reporting on marketing efforts and KPIs, utilizing data to provide clear narratives on consumer behavior.
  • Establish and manage reporting alerts and monitoring processes to proactively identify data anomalies or performance shifts.
  • Assist in the creation of dynamic and highly personalized consumer messages by leveraging deep data insights and audience segmentation.
  • Produce regular data-focused presentations for peers and key stakeholders.

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience utilizing message automation tools (Iterable, SendGrid, Salesforce, etc.).
  • Proven ability to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for marketing databases and consumer data platforms (CDP).
  • Proficiency in data storytelling, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and build reports that provide clear business insights.
  • Previous experience with data management and visualization tools such as QuickSight, Power BI, Tableau, and Looker Studio.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with marketing databases and consumer data platforms.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience with SQL for data extraction and analysis.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to align data strategy with business goals.
  • Familiarity with consumer data protection laws (CAN-SPAM, CCPA, TCPA, GDPR, CASL, etc.).
  • Experience in cross-platform messaging (Push, In-App, Web Push, SMS/MMS).
  • Solid grasp of API and Webhook fundamentals.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask successfully.
  • Intellectually curious with an aptitude for learning and trying new things.

Nice to have:

  • Preferably 1 year of experience in web analytics (Adobe Analytics / Google Analytics).
  • Proficiency utilizing JavaScript, R, and/or Python.
  • Previous SDK Integration and testing experience.
  • Experience managing multi-year consumer relationship building (i.e., subscription or membership programs).
  • Previous experience migrating to new consumer messaging tools.
  • Previous work in the automotive space.
  • Two or more years of experience working with Segment (CDP).
  • Two or more years of experience working with Iterable, Klaviyo, and/or SendGrid.
