Job Description

The Associate Product Manager (Data Platform) supports the delivery of customer-facing data shares and listings across platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery and S3, helping make Lightcast data easy for customers to access and use.

This is an early-career role designed for candidates with 1-2 years of experience who are looking to grow into a Technical Product Manager path. The role focuses on product execution, data platform operations, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure data products are reliable, compliant, and easy for customers to consume.

You will contribute to backlog execution, data contract management, and product launches while gaining hands-on experience with modern data platforms and increasing ownership over time.

Major Responsibilities:

Product Execution & Backlog Support

  • Build an understanding of customer use cases and how Lightcast data is consumed across external data platforms

  • Translate requirements into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria

  • Support backlog prioritization and ensure engineering teams are unblocked and delivering against roadmap commitments

Data Platform & Distribution Management

  • Maintain and publish datasets across Snowflake Secure Shares/Marketplace, Databricks Delta Sharing, BigQuery Analytics Hub, and S3 delivery

Ensure data listings and entitlements are accurate and delivered within SLAs

Data Contracts & Governance

  • Support the definition and maintenance of data contracts, including schemas, versioning, and deprecation processes

  • Assist with compliance efforts related to PII, access control, lineage, and auditability

Data Quality & Reliability

  • Monitor data quality (freshness, null values, duplicates) and flag issues

  • Help maintain high standards for reliability and customer trust

Product Launch & Support

  • Contribute to product launches through documentation, changelogs, and internal enablement

  • Assist with incident triage and root cause analysis (RCA)

Platform Growth & Adoption

  • Track usage across platforms and identify opportunities to increase adoption

  • Support initiatives that drive measurable growth in usage

Education and Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in product, data, analytics, or a related field

  • Exposure to data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery)

  • Basic understanding of SQL or data concepts

  • Familiarity with data quality, governance, or security concepts

  • Experience working in agile environments with exposure to backlog management

  • Strong written communication skills, including user stories and documentation

  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, data, legal, security, and GTM teams
