QUICK OVERVIEW – TL;DRWe are hiring an Associate Reconstruction Project Manager (APM) – a high-potential, detail-oriented future Project Manager. This is a structured, hands-on training role designed to turn strong builders and operators into full Project Managers running complex residential and commercial reconstruction projects.
THE WHY
Reconstruction is the part of restoration that helps people and businesses put their buildings and lives back together after fires, floods, and major losses. Projects are complex and high-impact – you'll learn how to run jobs like a professional builder.
In our business, selling is part of being a great PM. We provide leads — top performers consistently convert ~50% of qualified opportunities, while average performers convert closer to ~30%. Strong PMs also know how to upsell and win private-pay scope, and they build relationships that generate repeat private work.
THE WHERE
New York-based (Metro NY). Field-forward role with job sites across NYC (and occasionally Northern NJ) as needed.
THE ROLE – WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO
·         Train directly under a Senior Reconstruction Project Manager and learn the reconstruction lifecycle end-to-end.
·         Learn how to scope, estimate, and manage reconstruction projects.
·         Help build scopes of work, budgets, and job schedules; learn sequencing of trades (demo, framing, finishes etc.).
·         Assist with bid packages, subcontractor coordination, and scheduling.
·         Learn change orders, supplements, and job budget control.
·         Maintain strong job documentation (photos, notes, daily logs, progress updates).
·         Communicate professionally with homeowners, property managers, and adjusters.
·         Gradually take ownership of smaller reconstruction projects with supervision.
THE CAREER PATH
·         Phase 1: Training, shadowing, and scoped ownership of job components
·         Phase 2: Running smaller reconstruction jobs with oversight
·         Phase 3: Promotion to Reconstruction Project Manager based on capability, consistency, and results
YOUR DNA
·         You care about building things correctly – not just quickly.
·         You are organized, methodical, and detail-oriented.
·         You think in sequences, dependencies, and plans.
·         You communicate clearly and professionally.
·         You want to grow into running big, complex jobs.
REQUIRED / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
·         Required: Valid driver's license; comfort working on job sites; strong communication; basic technology comfort.
·         Preferred: Residential/commercial construction experience; experience coordinating trades; exposure to Xactimate/Symbility or construction estimating tools; carpentry/GC/trade background.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
·         Expected base salary range: $55,000 – $65,000 (commensurate with experience)
·         Total expected compensation range (base + performance incentives): $65,000 – $95,000+ (uncapped upside tied to production and performance).
·         Benefits package, including PTO, 401(k) with match, medical reimbursement, and training/development support.
