Summary
Elephas, a Madison, WI-based biotechnology start-up company, is seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to join our team. Responsibilities will scale with experience and educational level. Applicants should be comfortable in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be a highly detailed and clear communicator who will contribute to the development, optimization, and validation of Elephas' cancer diagnostics platform.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Handle live biological specimens safely and free from contamination in tissue culture
- Process live and fixed biological specimens
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Communicate with various stakeholders regarding instrument performance and process bottlenecks
- Adhere to all safety protocols
- Keep accurate and timely records in electronic laboratory notebooks
- Perform operations to meet quality expectations in a regulated environment
- General lab maintenance as needed
Education/Experience/Skills
- Bachelor's degree in lab technology, instrumentation, biology or related field is preferred but not required, if relevant work experience is applicable
- Familiarity with laboratory instruments and production equipment
- Experience in safe tissue handling methods
