Title: Associate Special Servicing Operations, CMBS & Commercial Real EstateOffice Status: Hybrid Charlotte, NCBase Salary: $100k - $130k + BonusABOUT THE ROLE This is an Associate-level opportunity within the Special Servicing Operations function of a well-established commercial real estate investment manager, offering broad exposure across servicing operations, investor reporting, financial administration, and asset coordination for a growing CMBS and commercial real estate loan servicing platform. The role provides an excellent foundation for someone looking to build a career in commercial real estate loan servicing with direct exposure to institutional investors, CMBS transactions, trustee relationships, rating agencies, and complex CRE assets. It's an ideal fit for a detail-oriented early-career professional with an interest in commercial real estate finance who is eager to learn and grow within a dynamic, institutional-grade servicing environment.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the onboarding of new special servicing assignments within Backshop;maintain trustee files and servicing documentation;update servicing records and ensure data integrity across servicing platforms
- Assist with borrower consent requests and servicing approvals;support operational processes related to new loan assignments and servicing transfers
- Prepare CREFC Investor Reporting Packages and recurring servicing reports;assist with Appraisal Reduction Amount (ARA) calculations and Realized Loss Forms
- Support Reg AB reporting requirements;coordinate reporting requests from rating agencies, trustees, and investors;ensure all reporting deadlines are met accurately and on time
- Assist with servicing fee calculations, tracking, and reconciliations;support fee-sharing administration for third-party clients and operational accounting items
- Support operational activities related to asset releases;coordinate documentation, approvals, and servicing workflows with Asset Managers throughout the life of each loan
- Help maintain servicing procedures and operational documentation;identify opportunities to improve reporting and operational processes
- Work closely with Asset Management, Accounting, Legal, Trustees, Master Servicers, Rating Agencies, and other counterparties to ensure seamless coordination across all servicing functions
