Job Description

If you are a new graduate or you already have a bit of experience, you could be the Methow Valley's next veterinarian!

Valley Veterinary Clinic is now hiring two Veterinarians or Associate Veterinarians. We will provide you training and mentorship in small animal medicine. You'll gain practice in diagnosing and treating disease and injury in a supportive learning environment.

Our clinic is also set up for large animals, so if you want to practice veterinary medicine with horses, that's a bonus.

What sets us apart is that we are a clinic, not a corporation. We have been in practice since 1978 and are important members of the Methow Valley community in North Central WA.

This is a full time role working either four or five days per week. Clinic hours are 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. Evening or weekend work is not required. Pay is $120,000/year and we offer medical and dental insurance, three weeks of paid vacation, continuing education and licensure reimbursement. Relocation assistance is available.

Who You Are

  • You are a licensed (or license-eligible) veterinarian and you have earned your DVM.
  • You are ready to relocate to the Methow Valley, WA and are excited to become an important community member, as we are the only veterinary clinic in the area. Here's more information about the Methow Valley and all it offers.
  • You know that you are not expected to already know everything, so you're ready to learn and practice. You aren't defensive when you're learning.
  • You know that urgent and emergency care are important aspects of practicing veterinary medicine. You are looking forward to practicing this type of care, in addition to routine care.
  • You're dependable and you plan your time off in advance, so that if you miss work, it's for an important reason.
  • You have professional maturity and you are a clear and thoughtful communicator. You prefer working in a team because you work best with others.

What You'll Do

  • Provide medical, dental, surgical and preventive care for small animals
  • Perform routine examinations, diagnostics, and establish treatment plans
  • Conduct surgeries such as spays, neuters, mass removals, and dental procedures. Learn more advanced surgeries.
  • Interpret lab results, radiographs, and other diagnostic tests to guide patient care
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners about diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care
  • Work closely with the clinic team. Learn from them and in turn, share your knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with medical standards and clinic protocols
  • Be a great team member. Contribute to a positive, respectful, and efficient workplace.
