Job Description
Role: Asst. Controller Location: Phoenix Arizona 85018 Duration: Direct hire Pay: $90k-$110k Bonus: Eligible for annual bonus based on individual performance Setting: On-site; After approval by manager: hybrid 3 remote days monthly Reports to: Director of Accounting Why is it open: internal promotion We're seeking an experienced Assistant Corporate Controller to support corporate accounting operations and partner closely with the Controller/Director. This leadership role oversees accounting functions, financial reporting, process improvements, and team development while ensuring accurate and timely financial results. Key Responsibilities
- Support corporate accounting operations and financial reporting activities
- Review financial data, reconciliations, and internal controls for accuracy and compliance
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff
- Assist with property acquisitions, including accounting system setup and closing reconciliations
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Partner with operations and department leaders to improve accounting processes and reporting
- Oversee accounting system administration and third-party applications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Strong property management accounting and financial reporting experience
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, controls, and month-end close processes
- Proficiency in NextGen and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Property management accounting background
- Financial reporting and month-end close expertise
- Experience using NextGen and Microsoft Office products
