Job Description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Under supervision, performs public contact and clerical work in processing and issuing motor vehicle licenses, mobile machinery, sales taxes and fees.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND PERFORMANCE:

Office Duties:

Prepares and types letters and forms;
Establishes and maintains files;
Processes mail;
Enters data into computer;
Responds to phone and personal inquiries;
Receives property tax payments;
Places telephone calls to delinquent taxpayers;
Assists in collection of delinquent taxes;

License Duties:

Issues new plates and renewal tabs for vehicles;
Issues reminder cards;
Transfers plates;
Verifies VIN numbers with plates;
Issues licenses for mobile machinery;

Financial Duties:

Balances cash drawer daily;
Reconciles bank statements;
Collects bad checks;
Deposits funds;
Collects sales taxes and fees;
Maintains inventory;
