Job Description

Hall Ford Hyundai in Elizabeth City is looking for a dedicated and reliable individual to own and be accountable for the cleanliness of our automotive repair shop. The schedule for this role is 6AM to 3PM, Monday through Friday. Pay rate is $15/hour.

Summary:

Our Auto Shop Custodian keeps the dealership clean and organized, performing janitorial duties like sweeping, mopping, and trash removal in service bays, showrooms, and offices, while also handling basic building upkeep, managing cleaning supplies, assisting with oil/water spills, and ensuring safety compliance

Essential Duties:

• Cleaning & Sanitation: Sweep/mop floors, vacuum, dust surfaces, clean windows/glass, sanitize restrooms, and empty all trash receptacles.
• Service Area Maintenance: Keep technician stalls, service areas, and body shop clean; assist with oil/water spills; remove scrap parts as directed.
• Grounds & Exterior: Sweep sidewalks, remove snow/debris from the lot, and maintain yard equipment.
• Building Upkeep: Perform minor repairs (light bulbs), maintain fans, and ensure general cleanliness of furniture and fixtures.
• Supply Management: Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, soaps, and paper products.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere to OSHA guidelines, use proper PPE, and report unsafe conditions or damage.
• Customer Areas: Maintain showroom cleanliness, which may include stocking refreshments or putting out promotional materials.

Qualifications:

• 1 year experience in similar role
• Some mechanical / facilities background i.e.. light carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical a plus
