Job Description
Responsibilities
We are looking for an Automated Equipment Mechanic (AEM) to support the Advanced Materials and Chemicals Division in Rochester, NY.
Responsibilities:
- AEM skilled trade to provide multi-discipline capability to repair, maintain, install, and make improvements to chemical processing equipment and machinery (includes pneumatics, hydraulics, controls (PLC's), and electrical components)
- Ability to fabricate to exact tolerances using lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other shop equipment
- Some experience or expertise in piping, HVAC equipment and controls
- Ability to achieve a high level of expertise of chemical process equipment for effective troubleshooting and equipment repair
- Execute preventive maintenance program
- Calibrate, alignment and make adjustments with test equipment and production equipment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance software tools
Qualifications include:
- HS diploma
- Formal instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, and/or AEM training and demonstrated experience
- Mechanical equipment repair training and/or demonstrated experience: pumps, mechanical seals, agitators, gear boxes, fans (bearings, sheaves), alignment
- Demonstrate effective analytical troubleshooting skills
- Able to read electrical, instrument and machine drawings
- Able to read PLC programs to troubleshoot equipment problems
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Excellent safety record - places safety and environment as top priority in all work
- Knowledge of Lock Out / Tag Out
- Understanding of electrical codes for hazardous environments (flammable liquids)
- Good communication skills - daily communications with maintenance planner, technical staff and operations as needed
- Good team player - willing be flexible, work in other areas and with other trades as needed
Minimum Education Level and Experience:
4-year schooling and Journeyman or 7 plus years of demonstrated experience
Work Schedule:
- Work schedule will be on days 6am to 230PM and Shifts as needed
