Primary Skills: Test Automation (Cypress, Selenium, Playwright) (Expert), Cucumber Gherkin & TypeScript/Java (Expert), SQL & Database Validation (Advanced), API Testing & AWS Cloud (Advanced), Quality Assurance & Defect Management (Expert)Contract Type: W2 OnlyDuration: 18+ MonthsLocation: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid – 4 Days Onsite Initially)Pay Range: $75 - $80 on W2Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Automated Software Tester – FedCash Central to support Quality Engineering initiatives for a mission-critical financial application responsible for currency and coin processing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber, SQL, and API testing, with experience designing automated test frameworks, validating backend data, and executing functional, regression, and integration testing in AWS cloud environments. This role requires close collaboration with Quality Engineering, Development, Product, and Operations teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and quality of enterprise applications.Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop automated test scenarios using Cucumber Gherkin feature files, step definitions, and automation frameworks including Cypress, Selenium, and Playwright.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, UI, and API testing while validating backend data using advanced SQL queries across Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites across multiple environments, ensuring quality, reliability, and regression coverage.
• Manage test cases, execution results, and defects using OpenText ALM and Jira, collaborating with developers to resolve issues throughout the defect lifecycle.
• Support testing activities across AWS environments, including environment validation, connectivity checks, feature toggles, performance, resiliency, and release readiness.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, story refinement, test planning, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Must-have Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in Software Testing/Quality Engineering with strong expertise in Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, and Cucumber (Gherkin) automation frameworks.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, backend data validation, Oracle/PostgreSQL databases, and API testing using Postman or RestAssured.
• Experience with functional, regression, integration, and automated testing, along with defect management using ALM and Jira.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Java, AWS cloud environments, and strong understanding of Agile testing methodologies.

Nice-to-have Skills:

• Experience testing Finance, Banking, FedCash Central, or other enterprise financial applications.
• Experience with Jira X-Ray, Terraform, DevOps pipelines, and cloud-based resiliency testing.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development/testing tools such as Continue.dev or Claude.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Experience testing enterprise applications in AWS cloud environments with exposure to financial systems and mission-critical applications.
