Position Summary
Promotive is hiring experienced A Level and B Level Automotive Technicians for a growing, family-owned independent repair shop in Christiansburg and Radford, VA. This is a great opportunity for technicians who take pride in diagnostics, quality repairs, and working in a supportive team culture.
These full-time roles offer strong flat-rate pay, consistent car count, paid training, relocation assistance, and weekends off.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair domestic and Asian vehicles with accuracy and efficiency
- Perform drivability, electrical, maintenance, and mechanical repairs
- Complete Digital Vehicle Inspections using Tekmetric DVI
- Use modern diagnostic equipment including Snap-On Verus, Snap-On Zeus, and Matco tools
- Work closely with service advisors and teammates to keep workflow moving
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area
- Contribute to a positive, productive, team-focused shop culture
Requirements
A Level Technician
- 6+ years of automotive repair experience
- Strong electrical and diagnostic skills
- Ability to independently diagnose complex drivability concerns
- High productivity and ability to consistently turn hours
- Comfortable mentoring or assisting other technicians
- ASE certifications preferred
- Virginia State Inspection License required
B Level Technician
- 5+ years of automotive repair experience preferred
- Strong mechanical repair abilities
- Comfortable with moderate diagnostics and repair work
- Motivated, efficient, and production-focused
- ASE certifications preferred
- Virginia State Inspection License required
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Dealer or independent shop experience welcomed
Compensation & Benefits
- A Level Techs: $32–$38/hr flat rate (depending on experience)
- B Level Techs: $28–$32/hr flat rate (depending on experience)
