The Automotive Mechanic Senior mentors and oversees team member’s technical deliverables to ensure Roush and customer standards are met. This position is located in Greer, SC.Check out this video! We Are RoushAs an Automotive Mechanic Senior, you will:
- Perform initial vehicle diagnostics/root cause analysis for reported issues, and document findings in appropriate systems
- Maintain test vehicle functional condition by conducting inspections and performing required hardware updates
- Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components.Support installation of vehicle measurement equipment and data readout as needed (loggers, breakout boxes)
- Perform short testing drives to validate repairs and updates
- Read, interpret, and follow service procedures and HW retrofit instructions
- Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders in appropriate documentation tools
- Train new team members on rework, documentation, and troubleshooting processes and steps as needed
- Participate in daily shop team meetings and maintain a clean and organized workspace
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 8 years of work experience as a Mechanic
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team and able to mentor and trainothers
- Has own tools with rolling toolbox
- Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures
- Certificate in Automotive Technology or related
- State Mechanic Certification(s)
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers
- Experience working with BMW vehicles 2021 or new, and/or proficiency in speaking/reading German
- Experience working in a manufacturing facility
- Knowledge of vehicle communication networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
- Familiar with vehicle integration software and data collection
- Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends
