Job Overview

As part of Komatsu's North American Digital Office and Customer Solutions team, the Autonomy Product Manager will be responsible for driving the development, deployment, and adoption of off-highway autonomy hardware and systems. This role is critical in shaping the future of Komatsu's autonomous solutions by aligning product strategy with customer needs, enabling safe and effective implementations, and ensuring long-term customer success.

The Product Manager will work across internal engineering teams, dealers, technology partners, and customers to define requirements, influence roadmaps, and support field deployments. By combining deep product knowledge with a customer-centric mindset, the Autonomy Product Manager will accelerate adoption of Komatsu's advanced technologies and deliver measurable value across the North American market.

Targeted Komatsu locations are Chicago O'Hare, Milwaukee, Tucson, Cartersville, GA or at another Komatsu facility. Requires up to 30% travel working hands-on with end users, dealers, technology partners, and Komatsu teams both domestically and internationally.

Key Job Responsibilities

The Autonomy Product Manager, Customer Solutions will have responsibilities across Komatsu's North America region for autonomy solutions as follows:

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and execute the product strategy for Komatsu's off-highway autonomy hardware and system solutions.

  • Partner with global product management and engineering teams to prioritize features, enhancements, and new capabilities that meet the evolving needs of the North American market.

  • Monitor competitive landscape, emerging technologies, and industry trends to ensure Komatsu's autonomy offerings remain innovative and differentiated.

  • Customer Onboarding & Adoption

  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers and dealers, guiding them through setup, configuration, and operational best practices.

  • Support change management and user adoption strategies that promote safety and operational efficiency.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with dealers, end users, technology partners, and Komatsu teams worldwide to align product capabilities with customer requirements.

  • Communicate product vision and roadmap across internal stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment on priorities.

  • Continuous Improvement & Feedback Integration

  • Gather, analyze, and prioritize feedback from customers, dealers, and field operations to identify opportunities for product improvement.

  • Partner with engineering, UX, and support teams to address issues, refine features, and enhance system performance.

  • Enablement & Knowledge Sharing

  • Ensure customers, dealers, and internal teams have the knowledge and resources needed to fully leverage autonomy systems.

  • Support development of enablement materials that showcase product capabilities and real-world use cases.

  • Field Engagement & Industry Representation

  • Provide hands-on product expertise during field trials, customer visits, and system commissioning.

  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and customer demonstrations to promote Komatsu's autonomy solutions.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Demonstrated successful experience (2+yrs) in vehicle autonomous / automation technologies deployment and/or commercialization.
  • Understanding of construction/aggregate/quarry/mining customers business operations and pain points/needs as related to their daily work.
  • University degree (B.S./B.A.) in Engineering/Construction/Mining or other preferred, and/or experience (2+yrs) in construction, quarry, or mining related industries.
  • Skilled at working in a global, distributed team that targets both being fast paced and effective in addressing support needs.
  • Highly organized and efficient time management, especially relating to optimizing daily activity, end user requests, and discrete projects.

Additional Information

  • Experience training in technology, automation, or off-highway sectors
  • Ease in relating to your audience, grasping their perspective, and effectively communicating back to them with understanding & efficiency both.
  • Desire to help others and share knowledge/learnings with both users and colleagues, to maximize the learnings that each support outreach offers.
  • Impressive communication capabilities supported by superior presentation and oral skills desired, including solution proficiency (MS Office, various digital platforms).
