Compensation Range

The base pay scale for this position is $145,500.00 - $222,000.00. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

What you will be doing

This highly visible and influential role serves as a key strategic advisor and trusted partner to the Surgeon-in-Chief & Medical Director and provides executive-level support to the Senior Vice President of Service Lines. The position plays a critical role in advancing the vision, priorities, and impact of the Office of Medical Leadership and the Service Lines, driving alignment across leaders and ensuring effective communication, coordination, and execution of strategic initiatives.

As a central connector across clinical, operational, and administrative leaders, the AVP provides oversight of enterprise-wide programs and transformational efforts that enhance organizational performance, physician engagement, and patient care delivery. The role helps translate strategy into action by fostering collaboration, promoting accountability, and ensuring leadership teams remain aligned around key priorities and outcomes.

Additionally, the AVP leads and mentors a team responsible for successful program and project execution, building organizational capability while supporting innovation, continuous improvement, and sustainable transformation across the health system.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with the Surgeon-in-Chief, Associate Surgeons-in-Chief, and Senior Vice President of Service Lines as a strategic advisor to shape organizational direction, strengthen leadership effectiveness, and advance enterprise priorities through aligned people and operational strategies.

Lead enterprise-wide, cross-functional transformation initiatives that strengthen organizational capability, enhance leadership effectiveness, and deliver measurable business and clinical outcomes.

Act on behalf of the Senior Vice President of Service Lines to drive strategic priorities, influence decision-making, and ensure organizational accountability for execution across Medical Leadership and Service Lines.

Build alignment and collaboration across physician and administrative leaders to foster shared accountability, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and enable high-performing leadership teams.

Provide strategic counsel to senior leaders on organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, executive engagement, and change leadership to support sustainable organizational performance.

Lead the planning and execution of executive forums, leadership meetings, strategic communications, and high-profile engagements, leveraging a team to coordinate logistics, materials, and follow-through.

Inform enterprise growth and transformation efforts by synthesizing market insights, competitive intelligence, and organizational priorities into strategic recommendations that inform decision-making and Medical Leadership engagement.

Partner with Strategy and Service Line leadership to advance growth initiatives and ensure Medical Leadership alignment with enterprise objectives and long-term strategic priorities.

Lead annual goal-setting, prioritization, and performance management processes, ensuring organizational focus on the highest-impact initiatives and alignment with enterprise strategy.

Champion organizational transformation by leading complex change initiatives that strengthen leadership alignment, build organizational resilience, and enable sustained adoption across Service Lines.

Establish governance frameworks for Service Line leadership forums that enhance executive decision-making, strategic oversight, and organizational accountability while leading a team responsible for operational execution.

Lead, coach, and develop staff, building leadership capability, fostering a high-performing team culture and creating opportunities for talent development and succession readiness.

Design and lead leadership onboarding, integration, and development strategies for physicians assuming formal leadership roles, strengthening leadership capability, accelerating transition success, and building a sustainable pipeline of physician leaders.

Develop and advance leadership and talent strategies that strengthen organizational capability, support succession planning, and ensure a robust pipeline of future physician and administrative leaders aligned with enterprise priorities.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field preferred.

10+ years of progressive experience in strategic planning, healthcare operations, management consulting, executive-level program leadership, or a related field, preferably within a complex healthcare environment.

Demonstrated ability to translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, lead complex cross-functional initiatives, and drive organizational alignment, accountability, and measurable results across multiple concurrent priorities.

Proven experience serving as a trusted advisor to senior executives and physician leaders, with the ability to influence decision-making and drive outcomes through collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

Strong understanding of healthcare delivery, physician leadership structures, service line operations, and organizational change management.

Exceptional written, verbal, and executive communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations, presentations, and leadership communications.

Demonstrated leadership, relationship-building, and team development skills, with experience mentoring others and effectively navigating complex organizational environments.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to leverage data and insights to inform decisions and advance organizational priorities.

High degree of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related collaboration and project management tools.
