Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws and collect specimens as required
- Explain specimen collection process to patients clearly and courteously
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes for accuracy
- Review and confirm physician orders and test requisitions
- Ensure 100% accuracy when checking specimen labels and requisitions
- Update patient information in the system
- Store specimens according to required conditions and temperature
- Package specimens for transport to the lab
- Follow infection control and safety protocols
