Job Description
Our client, is a Vacation Rentals company, is looking for a Backend Software Eng for their Montreal, QC/ Remote location.Responsibilities:
- Design and implement clear, scalable APIs and backend services that power core claim workflows
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Data Science, and Engineering teams to define requirements, develop technical designs, and deliver high-quality features from concept to production
- Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence through thoughtful code reviews and shared best practices
- Instrument and monitor services to ensure reliability, performance, and observability in production
- 5+ years of backend software development experience
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Kotlin, Java, or Python
- Strong understanding of microservices and Kubernetes with experience working on APIs and end-to-end development from developing to testing
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing high-throughput APIs, data pipelines, and distributed systems Comfort working across the backend stack to diagnose and solve complex technical challenges
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at collaborating in design discussions, working sessions, and code reviews
