Cosentino's Price Chopper in Gardner, KS, is seeking a highly motivated Bakery Manager-In-Training to learn and develop the skills necessary to manage all aspects of our bakery operations. This role focuses on developing leadership abilities, retail sales expertise, and a strong understanding of bakery operations, including inventory control and merchandising. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a commitment to building a strong team.
Responsibilities:
- Learn and implement inventory management techniques to minimize loss prevention and maintain accurate stock levels.
- Develop skills in retail sales and customer service, providing exceptional experiences to all customers.
- Participate in the training and coaching of bakery staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
- Learn to manage and control costs, including labor and product waste, to maximize profitability.
- Contribute to marketing initiatives and merchandising strategies to drive sales and promote bakery products.
- Develop problem-solving skills to address operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Learn to effectively manage tasks and prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Demonstrated ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- General knowledge of retail operations and customer service principles.
- Working knowledge of basic math skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A strong commitment to ethical standards and conduct.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and a willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a retail or food service environment is beneficial.
- Familiarity with bakery products and processes is desirable.
- Some experience in a supervisory or leadership role is preferred.
