This recruitment will fill two positions, based in Helena and Billings, Montana. Telework is available for both positions, with required in-office days at the assigned location. Specific expectations will be outlined with the job offer and must follow state policy.

What is the position?

The Bank Examinee Trainee works as an integral member of the Banking and Financial Institutions Division's examination team to evaluate financial institutions for safety and soundness.

Examiners are responsible for gathering and analyzing financial institution data to:

  • Assess their financial and operational condition.

  • Assess their adherence with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Inform, support, and develop recommendations and conclusions using technical writing.

What are we looking for?

Education and/or Experience:

  • Experience in banking is preferred, but not required.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business administration, banking, finance, accounting or a related field is preferred; however, acceptable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Competencies:

Knowledge of:

  • Basic principles and practices of banking, business administration, accounting and auditing.

Ability to:

  • Continually learn and grow.

  • Analyze data and trends.

  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

  • Research and problem solve.

  • Demonstrate a strong attention to detail.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
