We seek a driven, commercially savvy Banquet Sales Manager who excels at building relationships, closing business, and delivering exceptional experiences. Scope of Responsibilities
- Proactively solicit, qualify, and convert new catering and private event opportunities through strategic outreach, industry partnerships, and collaboration to position Libbey's Coastal Kitchen as the premier waterfront event destination on Kent Island.
- Lead all phases of event sales and planning including site inspections, custom proposal development, contract negotiation, banquet event order (BEO) creation, tasting coordination, and final billing ensuring a seamless, premium client experience from first inquiry through post-event follow-up.
- Direct all on-site event operations in coordination with culinary, beverage, and service teams, ensuring flawless execution of every function in alignment with client expectations, brand standards, and established service protocols.
- Recruit, train, coach, and schedule event captains, servers, and bartenders; manage payroll for all banquet personnel; and foster a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, hospitality excellence, and continuous professional development.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with preferred external vendors including furniture, floral, tent, and A/V providers to expand creative event options and deliver distinctive, customized experiences across all available venue spaces.
- Maintain rigorous oversight of all alcohol and non-alcoholic beverage inventory, ensuring responsible service compliance (TIPS/RAMP), accurate cost controls, and adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and culinary leadership to design compelling, seasonally driven menus and comprehensive sales packages including food and beverage pricing, custom offerings, and presentation materials that reflect the coastal identity and culinary distinction of Libbey's.
- Implement and Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and aesthetic presentation for all private event spaces, including The Bridge and The Chesapeake Room, ensuring each space is impeccably prepared and fully operational for every event.
- Track, analyze, and report on event revenue performance, commission attainment, labor costs, and linen and supply expenditures; partner with the General Manager and operations team to meet or exceed all established financial targets.
- Participate actively in weekly management team meetings, coordinate all BEO-related communications with department heads in a timely and accurate manner, and serve as an ambassador for Libbey's brand values, culture, and guest-first philosophy across all internal and external stakeholder engagements.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
This position operates in a dynamic, fast-paced waterfront hospitality environment. The noise level can be elevated during peak event periods. The role requires extended periods of standing and movement throughout event spaces, as well as the physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Position Type & Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt management position. Schedule will include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as dictated by the private event calendar.
