Job Description
CSCA Café is a new and exciting café and bakery that will highlight exceptional coffee, exquisite pastries and a friendly atmosphere. We pride ourselves on providing top-notch service, the highest quality products, showcasing the work of CSCA’s Professional students and creating a community space where customers can relax and enjoy their favorite beverages, baked goodies and other retail products.JOB SUMMARYCSCA Cafe is looking for experienced baristas to craft exceptional beverages to our customers. To be successful in this role you should have work experience with various roles in coffee shops and/or bakeries. Ultimately, you will help increase profitability, boost customer engagement and propel CSCA cafe into a favorite neighborhood spot.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, following recipes and customer preferences.
- Operate coffee-making equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and brewers.
- Prepare and/or package a variety of baked goods
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the coffee bar, equipment, restroom, and seating areas.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and answering questions about the menu and retail products.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with inventory management, including restocking supplies and reporting shortages.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive and efficient work environment.
- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a passion for coffee and customer service.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Food Safe Handling Certified - Preferred
- This is an Hourly Part Time Position
- $18 - $22/hr. commensurate with Experience and Educational Background
- The work environment will be in a retail/café setting.
- Ability to Stand for hours at a time
- Ability to lift 25+ lbs
- Ability to move equipment, ingredients and finished products from location to location as required
