An Ellis Park Bartender is an integral part of the Ellis Park team responsible for taking food and drink orders from guests, as well as mixing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in a friendly and courteous manner, while simultaneously ensuring that guests are not overserved so that everyone can have a fun and safe gaming experience at Ellis Park!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Some details of what you will do:

• Take beverage and food orders from patrons in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including wine and bottled/draft beer.
• Promote brands/products to increase sales, including promotional drinks and drink specials.
• Maintain a cash drawer and complete transactions using a point-of-sale system.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of bar/workstation by arranging bottles and glasses to make attractive displays, sweep, wipe counter/table tops, sink areas, remove trash, mop, etc.
• Restock alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages, cut/slice and replenish garnishes, refill ice wells, replace kegs, refill paper products, glassware, and condiments.
• Assist with inventory and inventory control.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

What you need:

• Relevant work experience, including strong knowledge, ability, and skill in mixing a variety of alcoholic beverages.
• Basic math and cash handling skills.
• Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED.
