Behavior Support Teacher Self-Contained Classroom (K 2)Location: Rock Hill, SCBirch Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Support Teacher to work in a self-contained classroom supporting students in grades K 2 in Rock Hill, South Carolina. This is a rewarding opportunity for an educator who is passionate about helping students with behavioral and developmental needs thrive in a structured and supportive learning environment.This position is available for the remainder of the current school year, with potential opportunities to continue through the summer and into the next school year, supporting early childhood students ages 3 5.Position OverviewAs a Behavior Support Teacher, you will lead a self-contained classroom with a small caseload of 7 students who require individualized behavioral and instructional support. The classroom is well supported with 2 onsite paraprofessionals, allowing for strong collaboration and individualized attention for each student.Within the caseload, 5 students are on the autism spectrum, making experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and behavioral interventions highly beneficial.This role focuses on helping students develop positive behaviors, communication skills, social-emotional development, and foundational academic skills.Key Responsibilities
- Provide instruction and behavioral support in a self-contained classroom setting
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and positive behavior supports
- Support students in developing social-emotional, communication, and self-regulation skills
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, school staff, and related service providers
- Communicate effectively with families and educational teams
- Foster a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment
- Active South Carolina Multi-Categorical or Emotional Disabilities teaching license required
- Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and behavioral needs preferred
- Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills
- Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals and multidisciplinary teams
- Passion for supporting young learners with diverse needs
