Job Description
Arnot Health, a member of Centralus Health, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Assessment Specialist to join our team on a per diem basis. In this role, you will provide critical mental health services, including crisis and intake assessments, interventions, discharge planning, and referrals. You will work closely with patients, families, and community agencies, serving as a trusted liaison and advocate for those in need of behavioral health support.
Your Schedule
Per diem position
Weekend and holiday coverage required
Various shifts
What You'll Do
Conduct evaluations, assessments, crisis interventions, and referrals for patients in the emergency department or other assigned areas
Provide direction and support to patients, families, and healthcare providers, addressing psychosocial, cultural, environmental, ethical, and financial concerns
Complete accurate psychiatric assessments and progress notes
Coordinate discharge planning and follow-up care, ensuring appropriate referrals to community resources
Act as a liaison between Behavioral Health Services and community agencies, maintaining strong knowledge of available resources
Recognize and report potential compliance issues, following policy and procedure
Deliver care that reflects Arnot Health's commitment to A.I.D.E.T. (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explain, Thank You) and excellent patient-centered service
What We're Looking For
Education: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Registered Nurse (RN)
Experience: At least one year working in a psychiatric setting, plus one year or more completing psychiatric evaluations for level-of-care determinations (emergency room or walk-in clinic preferred)
Skills: Strong independent judgment, crisis management, ability to work under pressure, and excellent communication skills
Other Requirements:
Light physical effort (up to 25 lbs.)
Ability to work in challenging environments, including crisis situations and exposure to unpleasant elements
Strong coordination and planning skills to support effective discharge and treatment objectives
