Job Description

What you'll do at DBH:

Northcoast Behavioral Healthcare (NBH) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Healthcare Provider 1 to support clients through evidence‑based treatment, individualized skill development, and coordinated care. This role delivers essential clinical services, including diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, counseling, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The Behavioral Healthcare Provider 1 ensures accurate documentation, facilitates referrals, and engages in ongoing training to uphold the highest standards of behavioral healthcare.

Responsibilities include:

  • Completing initial diagnostic assessments for new clients.
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans.
  • Coordinating client assessments, admissions, and evaluations.
  • Teaching and supporting clients in developing independent living skills.
  • Providing individual counseling and therapeutic support.
  • Serving as an active member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
  • Preparing and submitting reimbursement materials.
  • Attending required training and professional development sessions.
  • Coordinating referrals to providers and conducting follow‑up outreach.

This is an hourly position covered by the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of 10 on the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are Monday- Friday, 1st Shift 8:00 am- 4:30 pm. This position is located within our Mahoning County, Youngstown, Ohio.

Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.

Additional Salary / Appointment Information:

Longevity supplement after 5 years of service

Position Qualifications:

Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDC II) by Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board.

OR

Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.

OR

Licensed Social Worker (LSW) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.

OR

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT) by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.

OR

Licensed Registered Nurse with practice specialty certificate in Mental Health or Psychiatric Nursing as issued by Ohio Board of Nursing.

OR

Licensed Registered Nurse by Ohio Board of Nursing plus completion of Masters degree in Psychology or other mental health related field.

OR

Licensed Registered Nurse by Ohio Board of Nursing plus completion of Masters degree in Nursing with a Mental Health of Psychiatric Nursing concentrate.
