Make a Real Impact in Your CommunityProfessional Services Group (PSG) is seeking a Benefits Specialist to support individuals in accessing essential public benefits and community resources. This role is ideal for someone who cares deeply about advocacy, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to make a meaningful difference for older adults and individuals with disabilities or mental health challenges.

Position OverviewIn this role, you will work directly with individuals referred through the Division of Aging, Disability, and Behavioral Health Services (DADBHS). You will guide them through benefit eligibility, application steps, and the appeals process while ensuring they understand their rights and available options.

What You'll DoYou will educate consumers on public benefit programs, assist them with completing applications, conduct eligibility evaluations, and help prepare or present information for administrative appeals under the direction of an attorney. The position also includes community outreach, public education, and ongoing collaboration with legal advisors, county partners, and community organizations. Accurate documentation, ethical conduct, and confidentiality are essential.

What You BringCandidates should have a bachelor's degree (preferably in human services) or an RN license, along with at least one year of experience supporting aging adults or individuals with disabilities; internship or volunteer experience may count. Strong communication, organization, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity are important. Familiarity with public benefits programs is a plus, and comfort using Microsoft Office is expected. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
