Job Description

Job Title: BEST Program Interim Communications Lead Duration: 3-6 Months Location: Hybrid Hours Per Week: 37.5 Position Summary This is a high-impact, temporary position focused on executing communications plan for the BEST Program. This position will ensure project updates, stakeholder messages, and team announcements remain consistent and timely. This position will work closely with project leadership and OCM teams to draft, prepare, and communicate critical project information into clear, engaging content to maintain momentum for the BEST Program. This role facilitates the transition between current and future project states by aligning communication workstreams and leading the tactical execution required to maintain project momentum during this interim period. Duties " Audit the current progress of the project's communications teams to ensure all activities are synchronized with the broader project roadmap. " Draft and distribute high-quality content, including project briefings, status updates, stakeholder engagement, and presentations, following established templates and tone. " Coordinate the development and distribution of project-related materials such as announcements, reports, and newsletters. " Review and maintain existing project distribution lists to ensure all stakeholders receive critical project updates. " Manage the project's SharePoint document sharing site to ensure correct filing of materials related to project management and deliverables. " Review content of BEST website to recommend updating or addition to content. " Monitor feedback channels and escalate complex concerns to the Project Manager. " Maintain trusted relationships with all agency staff and stakeholders, ensuring they remain informed, engaged, and "project-ready ". " Provide regular progress reports to program leadership and maintain meticulous documentation to ensure project continuity. Qualifications " Proven ability to quickly "step into " a complex project environment and build immediate credibility with a large team. " Demonstrated experience in project communications, public relations, or a related field. " Proven ability to draft professional business correspondence and engaging content quickly. " Ability to rapidly learn the BEST program's language and organizational culture to maintain continuity. " Proficient in MO365, especially PowerPoint, and digital communication tools such as Mailchimp and/or WordPress. " Proven ability to pivot between reactive, time-sensitive project announcements and the proactive development of a long-term communications roadmap. Hybrid Work Model The BEST program operates under the Office of the Comptroller (CTR) hybrid work model. Under this policy, employees are currently required to work a minimum of four (4) business days per month (two (2) set by management and two (2) set by the employee) on-site at CTR's Boston office and may work remotely the remainder of the time at a location approved by their supervisor, so long as they comply with the requirements of the telework policy. Under this policy, all employees must be able to report to the Boston office with little or no notice, even including the same workday should an exigent circumstance arise. Therefore, a reasonable proximity to the office is necessary. CTR does not reimburse for employees to travel to the office. In addition, the successful candidate may be required to work primarily on site in Boston during the initial training and orientation period and/or for certain positions a primarily on-site role may be necessary. Hours Hours of work are Monday through Friday, except for holidays, on a full-time basis, with a compensated workday of 7.5 hours a day with an option for 8 hours per day upon preapproval from supervisor. A selected candidate's exact schedule may be set with the direct supervisor. Overtime, night, and weekend work schedules will be set with the position's direct supervisor.
