Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for patients of all ages.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical and dental histories, taking vital signs, and evaluating oral health status.
- Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures, providing gentle chairside support tailored to young patients’ needs.
- Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix to document treatment notes, update medical records, and review documentation for accuracy.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions in both English and the designated second language.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of instruments to ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Monitor and record vital signs, medical imaging results, and other relevant health information following HIPAA guidelines and medical terminology standards.
