JOB SUMMARY
The Instructional Coach & Community Coordinator serves a dual role supporting the success, formation, and well-being of Billiken Teacher Corps teachers and the larger BTC community. In this position, the individual provides high-quality instructional coaching, ongoing professional guidance, and documentation to ensure that BTC teachers grow as effective educators. Simultaneously, the role supports the spiritual, community, and programmatic life of BTC teachers by coordinating retreats and community events, facilitating recruitment and alumni engagement, and managing communication and logistics that strengthen the BTC mission.
This position is being funded by a grant and/or designated source, and therefore continuation in the position is contingent upon funding availability.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructional Coaching
Conducts bimonthly classroom observations and post-observation debrief meetings with first and second year teachers in Catholic schools
Provides regular instructional coaching support
Supports Practicum workshops, orientation, and other professional development sessions
Documents coaching visits, observations, and teacher progress
Assists in tracking certification-related requirements
Community & Spiritual Formation
Support teacher community life through pastoral care, conflict resolution, and ongoing programming
Plan retreats, spirituality nights, community events, and orientation sessions
Oversee BTC residence logistics, maintenance requests, and community accountability
Marketing, Communications & Recruitment
Supports the Director in recruitment events, outreach, and information sessions
Maintains BTC social media and assist with website updates
Produces regular recruitment and alumni communications
Onboarding & Alumni Engagement
Tracks onboarding documents and assist with summer orientation logistics
Coordinates alumni events and maintain alumni communication
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of effective instructional practices and familiarity with instructional coaching models, observation protocols, and teacher development frameworks
Knowledge of instructional practices and classroom management
Understanding of Catholic education and faith-based community formation, with the ability to support spiritual growth and pastoral care
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build trusting relationships, facilitate difficult conversations, and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
Organizational, event planning, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines while managing logistics, communication, and follow-up
Proficiency with digital tools, including email communication, social media (especially Instagram and Linked In), basic website content updates, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
Flexibility and adaptability, with willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
Commitment to the mission of the Billiken Teacher Corps, including service, community, and the holistic formation of teachers
Ability to mentor and support early-career teachers, providing constructive feedback and guidance
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in education or a related field
Three or more years of full-time K-12 teaching experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience as an instructional coach, mentor teacher, or teacher leader
Experience working in Catholic schools
Background in pastoral care, ministry, or community formation
Event planning or program coordination experience
Proficiency in managing social media for an organization (Instagram, LinkedIn etc.)
