Job Description
Required Qualifications
- 2–4 years of hands-on billing and collections experience in a healthcare or behavioral health setting
- Working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Familiarity with commercial insurance and government reimbursement programs (Medicaid, Managed Care, etc.)
- Experience with claims review, analysis, and quality assurance
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and diagnostic coding systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — you can explain billing issues clearly to non-billing audiences
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management
- Self-starter who manages competing priorities without close supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with or overseeing offshore billing teams
- Working knowledge of Practice Management, Case Management, and EMR software
- Familiarity with behavioral health program billing (OMH, OASAS, OPWDD, SED, or similar)
