As a billing assistant, you'll play an important role in the success of the organization by using your attention to detail, resiliency, communication and collaboration skills.
About the Role:
You'll assist patients. answer billing questions and set up payment agreements using your kindness, problem-solving and customer service skills. Responsibilities include:
- Carry out billing customer service
- Perform billing clerical tasks, including processing claims and posting payments.
- Provide education and support on sliding fee discount applications
You will travel to Neighborhood sites in Western New York as needed.

Education and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Teamwork; you are open to others' unique perspectives, and will collaborate to meet shared goals
- Commitment to adhere to standard operating procedures and policies of Neighborhood Health Center as well as federal, state and local regulations
- One year prior medical billing experience and insurance verification preferred
- Able to read, write and speak the English language. A second language of Spanish preferred

Compensation: Starting rate $18.50 per hour.
