J.Morrissey is seeking an experienced Medical Billing & Credentialing Manager for an exciting contract-to-hire opportunity with one of our valued healthcare clients in Waterbury, CT. This leadership role is ideal for a billing professional who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and has experience managing both revenue cycle operations and credentialing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct management and leadership to the Billing and Collections staff within the Finance Department.
Oversee all billing and collections functions across the organization to ensure timely and accurate revenue cycle operations.
Identify billing and collections reporting needs and develop meaningful reporting to support organizational goals.
Collaborate with leadership to coordinate workflow processes and improve operational efficiency.
Serve as the primary point of contact for external payors, responding to inquiries and resolving billing-related issues.
Lead hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, coaching, and, when necessary, disciplinary action and termination of staff.
Serve as the organization's EHR system super user, providing expertise and support to internal teams.
Oversee credentialing workflows, monitor workloads, and ensure provider credentialing activities are completed accurately and on time.
Participate in quality assurance initiatives and facilitate team meetings focused on process improvement and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Previous leadership experience in medical billing, collections, and revenue cycle management.
Strong knowledge of healthcare billing practices, insurance payors, and reimbursement processes.
Experience managing provider credentialing processes.
Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems; super user experience is highly preferred.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while leading a collaborative, high-performing team.
