J.Morrissey is seeking an experienced Medical Billing & Credentialing Manager for an exciting contract-to-hire opportunity with one of our valued healthcare clients in Waterbury, CT. This leadership role is ideal for a billing professional who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and has experience managing both revenue cycle operations and credentialing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct management and leadership to the Billing and Collections staff within the Finance Department.

• Oversee all billing and collections functions across the organization to ensure timely and accurate revenue cycle operations.

• Identify billing and collections reporting needs and develop meaningful reporting to support organizational goals.

• Collaborate with leadership to coordinate workflow processes and improve operational efficiency.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for external payors, responding to inquiries and resolving billing-related issues.

• Lead hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, coaching, and, when necessary, disciplinary action and termination of staff.

• Serve as the organization's EHR system super user, providing expertise and support to internal teams.

• Oversee credentialing workflows, monitor workloads, and ensure provider credentialing activities are completed accurately and on time.

• Participate in quality assurance initiatives and facilitate team meetings focused on process improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Previous leadership experience in medical billing, collections, and revenue cycle management.

• Strong knowledge of healthcare billing practices, insurance payors, and reimbursement processes.

• Experience managing provider credentialing processes.

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems; super user experience is highly preferred.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities while leading a collaborative, high-performing team.
